WHO WE ARE

A faith community welcoming all to “Come and See”
- John 1:46

A Welcoming Community

Set on a hill overlooking the charming town of Afton, Minnesota and the beauty of the St. Croix River, we are a welcoming community and proud member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

We are a church rooted in faith, scripture, and the belief that Christ calls us to love and serve the world with open hearts and helping hands. We welcome people of every age, gender, and life circumstance — offering programs and events that nurture faith, connection, and community for all.

All Are Welcome Here.

Church Life Together

Our History

The people of Memorial Lutheran Church have been gathering by the river and proclaiming the love of Jesus Christ to the St. Croix Valley since 1882. What started as a group of Swedish immigrants has grown into a diverse community of caring individuals.

While there have been many changes over the last century, one thing remains the same: our commitment to do God’s work for God’s people.
